The Research Harbor Rostock is a joint undertaking of the state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and regional industry, universities and research institutes. The Research harbor was established 2007. Goal is the demonstration of new systems and services for safe and efficient naviation in realistic environments. Based on this infrastructure value added services for assistance systems, cooperative navigation, traffic managment and logistics can be developed and demonstrated.
The infrastructure joins the competences of the University of Applied Science Wismar (Department of Navigation), the Schifffahrtsinstituts Warnemünde, the University of Rostock (Department of Automation Technologies) and the DLR, Institut für Kommunikation und Navigation Neustrelitz, Abteilung Nautische Systeme.
The research harbor focuses on GNSS evolution especially using the Galileo System. Topics are:
